A Long Friendship

–Kanti and Kadambri

 

Our friendship with Sunder and Raji spans almost half a century. Kanti met him at Nagpur during his probationer days when they had some hearty meals together (cooked by Sunder), athey were together as colleagues and friends till our days of serene retirement at Bangalore. This relationship had an easy camaraderie—we were just happy to talk and socialize. Sunder brings life to the parties with his meticulous details in planning–everything from starters to the desserts. There was a mark of his special touch. He enjoyed and appreciated it if you were a connoisseur of all that. Looking back, we are happy that we did all this socailising both at Delhi and Bangalore. They hold very happy memories for us.

[Kanti (Srikantan) was Sunder’s senior in the IA&AS by two years. He, Kadambri and their son Venky are among our oldest and closest friends. We followed them to Bangalore when Sunder retired in 2003].
