My mom, sister, and I have been thinking about all our favorite memories and all the good times we shared with Periappa, while it is hard to select just a few, we wanted to share these with you: We always called Perriappa, Perriappa only, even my dad did not call him by any other name, and because of this, the Pandits thought this was his name, and always introduced him as Mr. Perriappan.

At my sister’s wedding, he challenged Sindhu to a champagne chug-off, and even though Ashwini Uncle did not let them have the chug-off, I am pretty sure Perriappa would have won ☺

I am so fortunate that I had the opportunity to spend time with Perriappa in New York, Oxford, India, and New Orleans. Whether it was drinking Pimms while punting, or watching cricket, Perriappa had such a zest and passion for life that he shared with everyone around him. He has been such an integral part of my life and I am so thankful for the time I spent with him.
I am going to miss him so much, and hope to have the same appreciation for life that he had.
